City sewer rates remain unchanged.
The rate is based on customer use and people with water only meters (for lawn and
garden) will not be assessed ready to serve charges, only consumption.
Money set aside will meet the needs for maintenance of the system and future improvements.
Improvements on tap for this year include replacing 2,000 linear feet of water line.
These improvements will stop any brown water problem and provide a higher quality
of drinking water.
Projects on the board for this spring include replacement of four inch main on Elm
Street between Parkview Lane and Day Avenue; Hall Street between Parkview and Day;
and on Ninth Street between James and Elm Streets. In a related, but separate improvement
project, two sewer mains will be replaced: along Harbor Place between Seventh and
Eighth Streets and Anchor Place between Second and Third Streets.
