Show Your Holiday Spirit

The Frankfort DDA has invested several thousands of dollars in new winter decorations for the Main Street corridor. The City staff will begin to put up the decorations in the days ahead, very exciting! The DDA is also encouraging every business and building on Main Street to also get involved, not only the holiday spirit, but indeed the entire winter, by putting up seasonal lighting and decorations.

Every business that is open year round does benefit from a more vibrant streetscape and everyone can help the cause by getting engaged.

The DDA is also requesting those businesses that have closed for the season to get involved if at all possible. Dark buildings in the winter can paint an image for the entire community that everyone is closed.

The DDA is making a request to those businesses closed for the season to not "paper over" the windows, rather using some other visual aid to reduce the ability for folks on the sidewalk from looking inside. Frequently the paper over the course of the winter begins to come unattached, creating another visual that is not inviting.

We do have volunteers ready to assist anyone that is not in Frankfort and would like to decorate or create a holiday display in your building.
